Antje spent part of the summer designing and constructing the setting for a TED conference in Madrid, Spain with a group of students from CCA. The task was to take a space that was unclaimed, uninhabited under a freeway - an urban void, and transform it into an event, a space full of culture and exchange. Makes you wonder what could be done with the undernourished in-between spaces all around us.

We always like to see the steel going in on a project, in just a couple days a shape and volume appears. The steel rests on more than the foundation, it sits on top of the design drawings, the construction drawings, the shop drawings, and the careful work of the fabricators. One of the reasons we like building is that it is a collaboration of so many skills and heads. Today, though, we just sat back and enjoyed the show.
